Future Plans and a Reflection
As of now, my plans for the future are somewhat ambiguous. For high school, I plan on attending New Tech High @ Coppell. I decided New Tech over CHS because I believe the environment of New Tech is more realistic, as well as more beneficial to me. According to what I know, building cooperation, teamwork, and leadership skills are very useful in the real world.

I am not entirely sure where I want to attend college. My goal is to get into a prestigious college that will challenge my work ethic. I believe I have the potential to get into a prestigious college (such as an Ivy League college), but meeting that potential will require me to focus on my academics. I am considering Stanford University as a goal when applying for college, but this may change.

Lastly, I have not decided on one career to pursue. I have considered many careers to pursue, but I have not decided on one yet. I first considered being an anesthesiologist (a medical practitioner who is trained in anesthesia. Anesthesia is medicine that renders a person unconscious so surgeons can operate on them) when I was younger, but this was only for the money. I then showed interest in being a psychiatrist (a medical doctor who specializes in mental health). However, my father suggested that I have the potential to become an amazing lawyer. Both careers seem interesting, but both have their downsides.

Although I am not entirely sure about my future right now, I imagine that it will become clear soon enough.
Awards
The photo to the left of this text shows an award from my school for citizenship that I earned when I was in the 6th grade. I won the award during the end of that school year. Out of the hundreds of students in the 6th grade that year, only 10 people (including me). earned that award. This award is important to me, as it recognized outstanding character, which is something that I think is more important when compared to athletic and academic ability.

Welcome! My name is Matthew. I am currently 14 years old. I attend middle school as an 8th grader in Coppell. I am a clarinet player in the school's Honor Winds band. I generally perform best in academic activities, but can perform well in artistic and athletic activities as well. My hobbies mainly consist of playing video games and exploring (or "surfing") the internet.
